“As Program Director of the CDC, I found the leadership training sessions very informative and useful in enhancing my skills in management,” said Carol Silva. Silva attended a course instructed by a mentor from Family Service Association, who announced new requirements to maintain our Four Star Certificate in the Texas Rising Star program. CDC classroom teachers received resources geared toward professional development and materials to bring back to their classrooms.

“We learned new class management skills with suggestions on how to bring the children’s attention back into an activity,” said Gertrude Mora, teacher in the two-three year old class. “We were also given ideas for pairing activities with specific child’s interests and abilities.”
