Blessed Sacrament Academy — almost there

Sisters Stephanie Marie and Odilia meet with architect and potential contractors.

Months of preparation have brought us to this moment of creating something new. After selection of a contractor in early December 2011, construction of a new cafeteria/assembly hall for our high school students will begin.

The grassy and sandy space at the forefront of the picture will soon host a much needed cafeteria and assembly area for our high school students.

Bricks are being shipped in from Mexico to match the 1926 Convent in the background.

We owe abundant gratitude to those who made it possible for us to provide a eating and meeting space for our students – who might miss not being to be able to eat outside! However, on cold and rainy days we will all be grateful. Special thanks to: COSA, Koch Foundation, NuStar, USAA, BSA Alumna and Friends, H-E-B, Valero, Myra Stafford Pryor Charitable Trust at Frost Bank, Archdiocese of San Antonio.

We believe that the more opportunities we give our students to uncover and use their potential, the healthier our society will be. And that’s a good thing added to our something new.

Groundbreaking for this new addition is scheduled for December 15, 2011.
